Ethical Charter

May is a purpose-driven company dedicated to serving families.

May is a health service designed to support parents and future parents, from pregnancy to the start of school. The entire May team, both healthcare professionals and non-healthcare staff, works daily to provide the best information, advice, and support for your parenting journey.

Our commitment is reflected in the following four principles:

1. Supporting all types of parenting with care and respect

At May, we support every family based on their unique needs, wishes, and context.

Because every family is different, our support is personalised. While May develops methodologies and tools to better assist parents, these are only resources available to healthcare professionals. They are not rigid frameworks to be uniformly applied but a toolbox for personalized support.

We welcome your questions with kindness and without judgment. No question is silly, strange, or shocking. Every question deserves to be asked.

2. Combining professionalism with the realities of parenting

The advice provided by May is delivered by qualified and experienced healthcare professionals. The May approach is scientifically grounded and regularly updated with the latest recommendations from leading organisations.

But it doesn’t stop there:

  • We aim to address your parenting questions within the context of today’s challenges. For example, neuroscience and environmental health are central to our approach.
  • Professional support, yes, but not purely theoretical. May’s support is practical, with clear explanations, actionable advice, and adjustments based on evaluating the actions taken.

3. The best way to parent? Yours.

We believe that parents, future parents, and their children already possess the resources to enjoy a fulfilling parenting experience. You know your child best. The May team aims to provide the information and support you may need to shape your parenting journey.

4. Our only interest: yours

May develops and delivers its services independently because we believe this independence is essential to provide you with high-quality support every day.

  • The May company has no financial ties to any organisation in the early childhood, health, maternity, or related sectors.
  • The advice provided by May professionals and the content in the app serve only your interests. Midwives, pediatric nurses, and pediatricians in the May team provide guidance freely, in accordance with their professional ethics.
  • No content in the May app is sponsored by a brand or created in partnership with a business.
  • Finally, no communication about a brand by May on social media or in newsletters is financially sponsored. Competitions we organise on social media or discount codes we share are intended to introduce you to brands or services you may like—or simply to make you happy
